31 Dec I’ll meet you there…
There are many reasons for which I am thankful to have the “job,” that I have. However, the most powerful reason I teach is to inspire human connection. As a teacher I am able to connect with people during a moment of true human-ness, true beauty.
This is what I live for…
The moment a student lies down in front of me on the reformer, cadillac or on the mat an unspoken agreement is made. This agreement is one of respect and of trust. Each and every time I am able to work with a new being in this place of absolute honesty I am deeply humbled and truly honored. What else is there without this beautiful connection and humble respect for one another, not because of our accomplishments, not because of our careers or social status, but simply because we ARE.
Because we are.
As 2013 comes to a sweet ending, I find myself, as others might be, thinking about resolutions for the new year.
I have one to propose…
What if we all do our best to find this place of deep honesty and respect, not only in certain situations, but in every situation. What if we were able to approach every living being we encounter with an open mind, an open heart, with respect and with trust?
A bit idealistic? Perhaps, but it couldn’t hurt to try.
Let go of fear, judgement and ideas you’ve developed about your inability to LOVE or be loved…
Allow 2014 be a year filled with courage, honest love, respect for one another and PEACE.
As my hero and constant inspiration once said:
“Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.”
