Jessica Barzell began her teaching career 9 years ago. Prior to moving to the city to pursue her dream of teaching and living in the city, she was at the University of Virginia as Professor of Dance. She furthered her extensive Pilates background at the Kirov Academy of Ballet as the Head Pilates Teacher.
Her enthusiasm for teaching, apparent in her style, lends itself to achieving the goals of the people she works with ranging from better alignment to stronger, more toned physiques. Her private Pilates practice has introduced her to exceptional people and has allowed her to thoroughly explore the depth of the human body as a powerful source of growth and healing.
Jessica continues her education yearly at Mount Sinai Hospital, studying alongside Anatomists. This allows her to understand how the body functions inside and she consequently is able to provide a level of teaching that is unsurpassed.
Jessica has developed the ability to assess and reach the needs of many different and unique physiques to achieve the overall goal of greater health and happiness for clients lucky enough to receive time on her schedule. Jessica holds two certifications (STOTT Pilates 2009) (Kane School of Core Integration 2010), an MA in dance (2008), and years of continuing education with mentors and colleagues.
