Lokai… Find your balance.

The other day when I was at dinner with a good friend I noticed her bracelet. It had at one end a black bead, and directly opposite the black bead, a white bead. The black and white beads were connected by a string of clear beads. So perfectly simple!

I not only loved the aesthetics of the bracelet, I instinctively knew that it held a deeper meaning. In fact, if did. The white bead was meant to represent hope and held a drop of water from Mt Everest, the highest point on Earth and the black bead held mud from the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, and served to represent life’s tougher times. The clear beads were to represent the circular nature of life and how the “ups” are inevitably connected to the “downs.” Ultimately it is our journey, how we choose to ride this wave of life, that counts.

Steven Izen, who spent nearly three years developing Lokai, suggests that you wear this bracelet as a constant reminder. A reminder to approach the challenges as well as successes that life presents from a place of authenticity and balance.

I loved it!!

I asked her immediately were I could get one and she told me that it was a brand new company just getting off the ground… and that I would have to wait.

That I did. (Not so) patiently. čśë

I am thrilled to announce that their website has officially launched and these meaningful and beautiful bracelets are now available!!! I have mine and wear it every day as a reminder of the beauty that exists in appreciating life, not only when it is shining brightly upon you, but also when you are humbled by the darker times.
