Spring into Summer Series Day 6: Principle: Precision

Sometimes I feel like being a Pilates Teacher is both a blessing and a curse. When I am walking down the street, on the subway, at the beach…. I can’t help but to notice posture, movement patterns… I can’t help but be what can at times seem like TOO aware of my own body and the way I am feeling in it, the way I am moving, how I am distributing weight across the soles of my feet, how my shoulders are resting on my rib cage….you get the idea. Sometimes it can be a bit exhausting.

The trick and the beauty lies, I believe, in making this precise way of being, and moving seemingly effortless. During your pilates practice and on your next run, try to practice absolute precision and efficacy. Using just the right amount of energy, giving just enough attention to detail, to make your experience one that is effective, intelligent, well-balanced and health enhancing.

“I know this world is ruled by infinite intelligence. Everything that surrounds us- everything that exists – proves that there are infinite laws behind it. There can be no denying this fact. It is mathematical in its precision.”
Thomas A. Edison
