What does it mean to be a good teacher?

What qualities make a good teacher?

I remember being asked this question while I was in the Master’s Program at The Pilates Center in Boulder.  Although this question is relatively subjective, everyone in the room offered similar suggestions: patience, compassion, wisdom, humility…the ability to remain present and grounded…

Along with the previously mentioned qualities, I believe that it is a student that makes the best teacher. As teachers we are constantly learning from the moving, breathing body that is in front of us. If we are grounded, present and receptive to the organically dynamic lesson that each client offers us at each and every moment a world of possibilities for change and growth, constantly abound.  A beautiful evolution….
